Company Overview
Rockpoint Gas Storage (Rockpoint) is the largest independent pure-play operator of natural gas storage facilities in North America. We own and operate six strategically located facilities across Alberta and California, with a combined effective working gas capacity of approximately 279.2 billion cubic feet (Bcf). Our assets represent roughly one-third of the total storage market in these regions and are interconnected with major pipeline networks, ensuring reliable supply and access to key demand hubs. Rockpoint’s infrastructure plays a critical role in balancing seasonal and daily fluctuations in natural gas demand, supporting energy security and market stability.
Established in 2016, Rockpoint builds on a 37-year operational legacy that began with the AECO Hub™ in Alberta. Its growth has been driven by strategic acquisitions, including the Warwick facility in 2012, Lodi facility in 2014, and the AECO Hub™ and Wild Goose facilities in 2016, which solidified Rockpoint’s leadership position in the industry. Today, Rockpoint serves a diverse customer base that includes utilities, power generators, producers, pipelines, LNG operators, financial institutions, and marketers. These customers rely on Rockpoint’s high-deliverability storage solutions to manage supply security, optimize energy distribution, and mitigate price volatility.
Rockpoint Gas Storage Inc. (RGSI) was formed in 2025 as a public company vehicle to facilitate its initial public offering (IPO). On October 15, 2025, RGSI successfully closed its IPO and acquired a 40% interest in the Rockpoint assets from Brookfield Infrastructure Fund II and Brookfield Americas Infrastructure Fund (Brookfield). The remaining 60% of the Rockpoint assets continue to be held directly by Brookfield. Brookfield also holds an interest directly in RGSI, giving Brookfield approximately 72% total ownership and control in the Rockpoint assets.
